Here's your T&B Tech Minute for Wednesday, April 3rd. I'm Danny Lewis for the Wall Street Journal. Amazon says it plans to cut hundreds of jobs

from its cloud computing business.

Amazon Web Services' sales, marketing, and global services teams will face several hundred job cuts,

along with hundreds more in its physical stores technology team.

An Amazon Web Services spokesperson said the company is still hiring within its core business

areas.

Ford says electric vehicle sales surged in the first quarter in spite of challenges facing the broader EV industry.

The automaker said it sold a little more than 20,000 EVs, making Ford the second best-selling E.

maker in the US behind Tesla.

Ford also reported its best ever quarterly hybrid sales record as customers opted for

those vehicles over gas-powered trucks and SUVs.

And that Spotify subscription is about to get a little pricier.

People familiar with the matter told the journal that the music streaming service is planning to raise prices by $1 to $2 in the U.S. and in some other markets this year.

The price hike is seen as helping to cover the cost of Spotify's push into audio books, as well as a test of how much its customers

are willing to pay.
