Lou was the Head Writer and Producer of the Webby Award-winning comedy channel We the Internet TV. During his tenure at WTI, Lou made the kind of comedy that gets you put on lists and your words in the Wall Street Journal: “How I Became a ‘Far-Right Radical.’” As a stand-up comedian, Lou has opened for Rob Schneider, Rich Vos, Jimmy Dore, Dave Smith, and toured the US and Canada with Scott Thompson. Lou has also produced live shows with Colin Quinn, the Icarus Festival, and the Rutherford Comedy Festival. For years, Lou performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (both in NYC and L.A.) in sketch shows with the Hammerkatz and his comedy duo, Greg and Lou. Greg and Lou is best known for its sketch "Wolverine's Claws Suck," which has over 20 million views on YouTube alone. In addition to producing sketch comedy like Comedy Is Murder, performing stand-up across the country, and writing for The Blaze's Align, Lou is on the advisory board of Heresy Press, a FAIR-in-the-arts fellow, and host of the live debate series The Wrong Take and The Lou Perez Podcast (which is part of the Lions of Liberty Podcast Network). 0:10.5	Today, I have the special honor of being joined by an author, a filmmaker, a pop culture, commentator, historian, and also a buddy, a friend of mine.

0:31.2	Well, for those of you who might not know, Matthew, his name is spelled a little special.
0:36.8	He's an extra special guy. And when you're that
0:40.3	special, you just need one T in Matthew and he's got it. It's true. I didn't even realize that it was
0:47.7	spelled that way until I was getting my driver's license. The computer just went to pot and we were
0:53.8	trying to figure out what was going wrong. And it turned out that for the first 16 years of my life, I'd been spelling my name wrong.
0:59.6	It is on my birth certificate with 1T. The way my mom remembers it is the midwife, she had me at home.
1:06.3	The midwife misspelled my name on the birth certificate, so we didn't realize that it was spelled that way. There is actually, believe it or not, another Matthew Klickstein in this great world of ours. We does spell his name of two T's. He's a musician in Brooklyn. We've never met. He's never reached out to me. I've never reached out to him. Clearly we know if we're ever in the same space and time at the same time will disrupt the entire universe. So we've decided not to do that, I guess, unconsciously. But it's a good way to keep us distinct as well, because again, he's a musician and I'm a writer, et cetera. So I've just kept it. And funnily enough, I will say, too, when I was younger, I always hated that my name as Matt because it was so common. I was always Brad Kay, and it really was frustrated to me.
1:47.5	I just thought it was so common.
1:45.2	I was always Matt K.
1:47.4	And it really was frustrated to me.
1:49.9	I just thought it was a very boring, common name. So when I learned at age 16 that it was actually spelled one T, I said, hey, at least it's somewhat unique now.
1:55.7	Yeah.
1:56.5	Well, I got to say, you know, you have a common name that's uncommonly spelled,
2:02.2	but you're not a common man in that you have a lot of interesting stuff going on.
2:07.6	Whereas I feel like there, it seems like there are some people, you know, in your neighborhood
2:12.9	throughout history where it's like all of their originality was spent on the name.
2:18.9	You know?
