On this episode of The Lou Perez Podcast I talk with Kendric about classical painting, Florence (the city, not my mother), El Museo del Prado, art collecting, and how he sees the world as a painter vs how I see the world as a comedian. Kendric gives a helpful tip on how to appreciate a Mark Rothko painting: Understand them, in a sense, as landscapes that you can project yourself into. Lou has also produced live shows with Colin Quinn, the Icarus Festival, and the Rutherford Comedy Festival. For years, Lou performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (both in NYC and L.A.) in sketch shows with the Hammerkatz and his comedy duo, Greg and Lou. Greg and Lou is best known for its sketch "Wolverine's Claws Suck," which has over 20 million views on YouTube alone. 1:03.4	and um i decided we're going to do oil painter painter et cetera and artists and uh kendrick
1:10.7	you said you had a little issue with going by artists.
1:13.6	But what is the issue with going by artists that you have?
1:17.7	Well, I wouldn't exactly call it a moral objection, but it's one of those.
1:21.2	It's kind of a common, no hang up of people in the classical painting community, usually

1:28.6	i'm not going to make that judgment artist as too fraught a word i'm going to describe myself in a more
1:35.2	literalistic sense i'm a painter i paint and we can leave the judgment of who is is or is not an artist

1:47.5	With, um, uh, so I mean, we need to be clear, you know, anybody who's looking for someone
