2025 type media fellow and a 2023 to 2024 Knight Wallace fellow. In 2021, he won numerous awards for

his documentary, The Imperfect Alibi. That documentary is about the Dennis Perry case that we

covered in our third season of Undisclosed, and the Dennis Perry case that we covered in our third season of

Undisclosed, and the Dennis Perry case is also the subject of his recent book, The Man No One Believed,

the Untold Story of the Georgia Church Murders. Josh, welcome to the podcast. Hey, thanks so much

for having it. Hi, Josh. So let's go ahead and start by reorienting listeners to the basic details of the Dennis Perry case.

So on March 11, 1985, Thelma and Harold Swann are murdered inside the Rising Daughter Baptist Church in Waverly, Georgia.

Initially, the case is unsolved.

It even appears in an infamous episode of Unsolved Mysteries before a new team comes in on the case more than a decade and a half later, and that leads to Dennis Perry being eventually convicted for the crime in 2002.

Now, Josh, to start things off, as you note in your book, you grew up pretty close to where this murder occurred and even have some of the connection to the swings,

right?

Well, yeah, I definitely grew up near there. I don't have personal connections to them,

but I'll say I have connections to the way that they lived and the place that they lived,
