Let's go to the back end of that defense, and what do the Lions have to do?

Is it just going to be a lot of zone coverage to try to shut down the two wide receivers and the tight ends for the Dallas Cowboys?

I mean, I don't know if that's the answer. Like, if you're Kelvin Shepardy coming out of the game last week, and I kind of mentioned it, and I had the same thought coming out of the game. I had the same thought the next day. Like, your pass rush is just awful. You're not doing anything. You're throwing these guys, you know, in the secondary to the wolves, basically. And then I watched the tape and I was like,

no, that's actually not right, man. Like they were, it just wasn't matching up. So I don't know if

that actually gives Calvin Shepard more confidence to say, we're just going to keep doing what

we're doing. And look, we're going to put it on our defensive line guys, like pressures. I don't

care. Calvin Shepard even mentioned it. Like, we have to do a better job of actually hitting the quarterback, bringing the quarterback down. Is this a week where you try to put the urgency into that? Or do you just say, like, you know, it's hard to admit, hard pill to swallow? We just don't have the guys up front that we think can get it done on a consistent enough level. And we can't keep putting our defensive secondary in a bind and asking them the coverage for three, four, five seconds down the field. That's going to be interesting. I'll tell you what. The first third down tonight is going to tell us a lot about how Kevin Shepard wants to call this game because those are going to be the money downs. Can you get off the field? Can you get the ball back to your offense? That's going to tell us a lot about how he's going to treat this game. But if I were him, like I kind of mentioned, and remember the same thing I talked about earlier, where a couple years ago you got to at this about the same point of the year, and it's like, dude, let's just roll like 3D line out there or 5D line out there. We'll drop guys all over. We're going to blitz

corners and blitz safety. You know what I mean? Like we're just going to try to confuse the

quarterback. And especially in an environment like tonight where we expect Ford Field to be,

playoff atmosphere and be rowdy and be loud. The more that you can disguise what you're doing
