Andrew Pollard was born in Tumbridge Wells in Kent on the 29th of August 1965.

He attended St Peter's Catholic School in Bournemouth before studying medicine at St. Botholomew's Hospital Medical School in London.

He trained in paediatrics at Birmingham Children's Hospital, specialised in paediatric infectious diseases

at St Mary's in London, and then joined British Columbia Children's Hospital in Vancouver as their

clinical fellow. He currently serves as the Aschral Professor of Infection and Immunity at the University

of Oxford and is Director of the Oxford Vaccine Group at the Department of Paediatrics.
