I'm your host, Chelsea Devantes, I am a writer, comedian and filmmaker, and this week

we are book clubbing Tebaugh's memoir published in 2017 titled A Sick Life, TLC & Me Stories

from On and Off the Stage.

It is a memoir about battling disease for whole life, the impact TLC had, and a surprising

character emerges in the book, which is Donald Trump in his hotels.

That was TLC's hit song Unpretty.

Of course they have so many other hits like No Scrubs or Waterfalls, but I chose Unpretty

because it came from a poem that Tebaugh's, by the way her real name is Tion Watkins, but

she goes by Tebaugh's in the group, she's Tebaugh's in my heart, she wrote a poem when

she was in the hospital when she watched an episode of Ricky Lake and where Ricky Lake

was speaking to all these women who were survivors and she was so moved that she wrote

the song Unpretty.

I never knew it came from Ricky Lake so I thought that was super interesting and we are going

to dive into it all with my fabulous guest, Blair Socky.
