his variable presence in your life. Well, first of all, I just have got to say a hearty thank you

to all of you who participated in our winter share campaign. We wrapped up just a few hours ago

and we're still in awe and completely undone, overwhelmed by your amazingness and by God's

greatness. So just thank you, thank you for

helping us to broadcast the hope of the gospel to a world so much in need. Well, John Eldridge writes

this, faith is something that looks backward. We remember the ways God has come through for his people

and for us, and our belief has strengthened that he will come through again. It's like based on history, right?

He says love is exercised in the present moment.

We love in the now.

Hope, though, is unique.

Hope looks forward, anticipating the good that is coming.

Hope reaches into the future to take hold of something we do not yet have, may not yet even see.

Strong hope seizes the future that is not yet. It is the confident expectation of goodness that's coming to us. It might be helpful to pause

and ask yourself, how is my hope these days? Where is my hope these days? Well, I'm so excited,
