Originally from Wisconsin, Timothy has become one of the best ultrarunners of his generation, with wins and podium performances at some of the world's most important races, including two victories at the Western States 100. conversation I recently had with my good friend, the ultra running icon from Boulder, Colorado,

Mr. Timothy Olson. Timothy should, of course, need no introduction to this

crowd. He is a two-time champion of the Western States 100. He is the former course record holder

at that race, and those are just a couple of highlights from just an incredible and illustrious career in the sport.

He is without a doubt a first ballot Hall of Famer, but he is so much more than an athlete.

Tim is a really deep dude.

For those who have followed his story over the course of the last decade, he, of course,

speaks openly about his battles in the past with substance abuse. And now he brings this amazing

message of mindfulness and this wonderful meditative vibration of peace and positivity to our awesome sport.

And Tim and I have been buddies for over a decade now.

We have been teammates on two separate occasions in the time that we've been in the sport.

to him in addition to just a deep respect and admiration for him as an athlete and as a human being.

And Tim is just getting ready now to embark on a 2,600 mile journey on the Pacific Crest Trail with the goal

here in our conversation talking about that upcoming effort. But as is my habit for better or worse, I also use this as an

opportunity to go deep with Tim. We talked about his career, the amazing highs and lows that he's

endured as an athlete. And he also talked really openly about some recent trauma that he and his family experienced

enduring a couple of really painful miscarriages over the last couple of years.
