Summary

"I ain't got much time. I don't expect to live past 21. That's why I got to jam it all in now, you know?"

The Wives Colangelo are kicking off a brand new year by going back to 1980 to hang out with two best friends who are definitely in love and ready to take over TIMES SQUARE. The Wives discuss the brilliance of Robin Johnson, old-school teenage rebellion, edy teen films that are actually edgy, and the ways punk rock behavior hasn't exactly aged well. If Allan Moyle is in the director's chair, you know it's going to be a good one!

Times Square used to look real different.

1:10.0

You sure did. Back in the day, like, Year's like people wear diapers or whatever and then they just pee so they don't have to try to find a bathroom during New Year's Eve. People just used to pee on Times Square. That's true. You know? They really did. So the more things change, the more they stay the same. You just slap a new coat of paint on it.

This movie is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. Killer, right? It's killer. Yeah, this is a movie that's been on my radar for a long time, but it's been, it was fun because neither of us had seen it. Right. So I had... We're coming in on the faith of Alan Moyle alone. Yeah, I had only seen, like, clips of this movie before because it's got, also got Tim Curry in it. So I'm obviously going to see that. I've seen stills of it. Yeah, I know the soundtrack kicks ass. Soundtrack was a big one. There's a VHS tape copy behind the bar at Vidyats that is constantly just staring at me when I order from there. Yep. So this is, this has been following us for a bit, but fortunately there was a new Kino Lorber release
