Tom Hartman here with you, the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Senate Rules Committee

have been in joint meeting where they have been interrogating various members of the,

really the senior kind of operational forces.

I think that in Washington, D.C. around January 6th, I think the principal one was the general

who is leading Washington, D.C. and one of the things that I found shocking was that when

he was asked, this is the general in charge of the D.C. National Guard, when he was asked,

what about this phone call?

Where at roughly between one and two o'clock, you were calling and begging for help.

There were two people on that phone call, he said, who said, we shouldn't send help, the

optics would be bad.

Now I'm paraphrasing here.

I've been looking for a printout or a readout of the actual testimony this morning because

I was catching it on the fly as we're you and don't have all the specific exact

times and proper names of people, but basically he said there were two people on the call

who said, we shouldn't send the National Guard because that would look bad.

Keep in mind, this is the same National Guard that was sent for the Black Lives Matter

protest back in June and that ringed to the Capitol building.

He said, no, we shouldn't do it because the optics would look bad.

And one of those two people was Charles Flynn, Michael Flynn's brother, Michael Flynn,

the guy who I believe he spoke at the rally on January 6th.

He certainly had advised President Trump that he should basically stage a military coup,
