I really love the newest biographies that come out of the presidents

because obviously presidents are, there's an intrinsic interest in a president of the United States,

especially if you're American, but also my belief is the best way to learn history is through biography.

Because it's very hard to grasp a big, broad,

general macro history as good as they are and as important as they are.

So there's a brand new biography out of the sixth president of the United States, John Quincy Adams,

and it is by a terrific biographer, Fred Kaplan, who's also a distinguished professor emeritus of English at Queens College in New York City.

And he has now written this biography of John Quincy Adams, the son of John Adams, and it is simply subtitled American visionary.
