This is a debate that I just had with Michael Lerner.

Michael Lerner is a radical Jew and Jewish radical.

I don't know which is the noun and which is the adjective.

They're both accurate.

Who spends a lot of his time writing op-ed pieces for mainstream newspapers against Israel.

Having a person with the title rabbi write these articles is wonderful for our opinion pages.

And we were invited to debate each other on a number of issues at a reform temple in Orange County, Southern California.

The reason that I agreed to the debate was because Michael Lerner does have a following with his magazine Tikun and because he was the guru

for Hillary Clinton for some time. He was the rabbi whom she said was in effect his guru.

And so I felt it was important to debate him. Rabbi David Waznika is the moderator, whom you

hear at the beginning. The sound

is not as perfect as my other tapes. The beginning is certainly bad. It gets much better after

Rabbi Wozniq who introduces. He is a wonderful rabbi with a national reputation. He served

as moderator. And so here goes. There's a lot of passion passion and you'll decide how you think the debate went
