book, maybe you read it, was called Einstein Never Used Flashcards.

Great title, right?

In that book, doctors Kathy Hirsch Possack and Roberta Michnik Golinkoff argue that we live in what they call a roadrunner society.

When it comes to raising our children, there is this incessant, not so silent push for better, for faster, for more.

There's a race underway to produce smarter children at younger and younger ages. Now remember, this was in 2003, 23 years ago.

Our world has changed so much in the past 23 years, but good parenting, my guests are going to

argue today, is timeless.

Smartphones changed our world in 2007. A.I. is changing our world before our eyes as I speak.

Kathy and Roberta are re-releasing their landmark book. Einstein never used flashcards. And what an honor, by the way,

as author is to have your book be re-released and updated. That's such an honor. Their publishers

are re-releasing this landmark book on January 20th with updates to address smartphones, to address

AI toys, to address the fact that now more than ever

in our fast-paced world that's obsessed with test scores and tablets, good parenting is

indeed timeless.

So on today's show, we are translating their 40 years, their careers in developmental psychology

to reinforce some not-so-radical parenting ideas.

No, we do not need to buy the AI toys to get our kids ahead.

No, our kids do not need to be enrolled in all the extracurriculars.
