0:43.3	So today we start off our sixth year here on Science and Futurism with Isaac Arthur, and I'm your host, Isaac Arthur.
0:45.8	As we travel from 2019 to 2020, time travel seemed like a good topic, and I figured we'd start
0:51.5	by discussing why we don't think it can work under known physics,
0:55.3	then talk about what the implications would be if it turned out we were wrong.
0:59.9	Of course the thing I always take as the biggest proof time travel isn't possible is that
1:04.0	nobody is offering packaged deals for temporal vacations.
1:08.1	If time travel were possible, we should see folks from the future and the past, everywhere,
1:13.5	and every win.
1:15.0	And not just a few secretive folks with a time machine like we see so often in science fiction,
1:20.4	people don't really seem to look much at what the extended and expanded use of such a technology
1:24.5	would be.
1:25.9	While that may be forgivable when a story contains such a technology having just been
1:29.9	invented, so everything revolves around a prototype for its first use, this doesn't really
1:34.9	work with time travel since it's being invented and used at any point means it's basically
1:40.1	been invented and used at all points in time.
