Today's guided prayer is on the topic of rest.

Right now together, let's all take a deep breath

as we prepare to have our perspective change.

Let's take a breath together.

The following verse is a poem that was written by an ancient King David, and as an ancient

king, his life would have been under constant attack.

and i slept yet i woke up in safety For the Lord was watching over me,

I am not afraid of 10,000 enemies who surround me on every side.

David declared that even while he slept, the Lord was watching over me.

And you know this applies to physical sleep,

but it also applies to moments of rest

where we are resting our body, our soul, our spirit?

In fact, this is such a big deal

that the Bible gives it its own term.

It's declared a Sabbath rest. What are you going to do

to rest today? Are you going to go for a walk in nature? Maybe watch a show. Maybe take a long

leisurely meal with friends or read a book.

What are your plans for resting today?

Do you know that these moments of rest can be an act of worship?

That our resting declares the goodness, the beauty, the power, and majesty of God.
