Welcome to our daily Rosedary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we promised to pray for.

So we've been learning and meditating on the power of the will, the power of the soul

that chooses, and whatever we will, we always will something that appears good.

But there's an order of goods, and our decisions should reflect those priorities,

the highest, and the first of all, there is the infinite perfect good who is God.

Then there is the good

things of our souls by pursuing such good things as relationships and achievement

and knowledge and beauty

and there is the good outside us, which can serve as opportunities for our

flourishing, food and houses and books and workplaces and cars and all sorts of things.

Now the lowest order of goods are goods outside us which aren't even completely real in themselves. We could call them

potential external goods. The main ones are money, time, and power.

These are goods that don't really have any substance or value in themselves.

Their only point is that they have the potential to get something else.

Think if you had no need for money, if you had everything you could ever want,

and there was no end to it you wouldn't need money. So if you're going to go after

time and money and power you better be using them for some other good.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallow it would be your name,

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
