Hello there I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast. So in mid-April

Transgender Montana State Representative Zoe Zephyr was censured by State Republicans after

she said those who supported a ban on gender, affirming care for use would have quote blood

on their hands.

She of course was referring to the high rates of suicide

for many transgender teens.

The two committees on which she served were shut down.

And then her key card was deactivated, meaning her constituents in Missoula didn't have any representation on the floor of the State House of Representatives.

The current Montana session ends in just a few days on May 5th, meaning she is unable to add her voice to the final crucial pieces of legislation,

including the state budget.

I do believe she gets to vote, but has to do that remotely.

But it's an latest example of what appears to be political silencing happening within

gerrymandered state houses. And just like the lawmakers in Tennessee who were ousted weeks ago,

she said to go to the courts and take legal action.

This week she sued for the right to return to her duties.

And one would think there's quite a few constitutional amendments

that might be at play with this one.
