Cal Newport onto the show. I am a Cal Newport super fan. Like I have been reading and listening

to his stuff for kind of an embarrassing amount of time. Cal, I was a study hacks reader back in the

day. I've been blogging for probably maybe as long as you have, 2004. So I'm one of those kind of

old guard people, but I've been following your journey throughout and I've been been so excited to see, release your own planner and get really nitty-gritty into

planning methods.

So that's what I would love you to talk to our listeners about today.

Do you want to introduce yourself a little bit more?

Well, yes.

I'm happy a podcast exists that is this deep into the productivity geekery weeds

because that is my happy place and I don't always get to go there. You've also been blogging

longer than me. So I was 2007. So you're really on the you're really on the old guards.

I'm quite impressed by your independent social internet spirit there.

Yeah.

So, I mean, to introduce myself, so what I would be saying is, as you know, I got started writing as a young man as a student talking about productivity for students and then moved on to talk about careers,

then to talk much more recently about technology and culture.

And this planner I just released was a, for me, a really fun return to some of the

productivity weeds that I got started with in my early writing, a chance to sort of

release to the world,

my secret sauce.

So it's been, I've enjoyed the opportunity recently to get away from heady topics about tech and culture and social media and just geek out a little bit.
