The new series Time Bandits reimagined the 1981 Terry Gillian film of the same name. It's less chaotic and more dryly funny, but the gist is the same.

A squad of inept thieves, including their sort of leader, played here by Lisa Kudro, have stolen a map of the universe and use it to jump through portals to various time periods to steal stuff.

Or try to, anyway.

One jump takes them into the bedroom of a young British kid who tags along with them as they're chased through time by

both Taika Yt's Supreme Being and Jemaine Clement's pure evil.
