And in the process, the Hawks steal home court in the series.

They make a lot of people that were writing the team off midgame feel probably a little bit silly right now.

And no, it does not guarantee anything moving forward. But the Hawks won a road game against a quality opponent. They did so in comfort behind fashion. And it was a lot of fun to consume, a lot to get into, but a great win. That's the top line thought for me on this podcast. Nothing scientific about that, but just a resilient win for the Hawks. They never gave up. They're done by as many as 14. They're done by nine with seven minutes to go. And then they basically turn the water off on the Knicks defensively. And I want to begin right there because through a lot of the game, I would have told you the Hawks were not playing all that well defensively. They weren't ever like totally disastrous on defense. but some of the numbers along the way were not the prettiest for the hawks defense. And then you see as kind of the game goes along, and it happens on film as well. It wasn't just the numbers, but the fourth quarter, they allow, sorry, 15 points, the entire fourth quarter, turning the water off. And and in the second half the hawks had a

100 defensive rating that means they allowed exactly one point per hundred possessions in a per possession

in the second half which is absolutely excellent and that included a 68 defensive rating in the fourth

quarter which not coincidentally was their best defensive rebound in quarter of the game as well.

So in the end, the box had like a 114-ish defensive rating in this game. That's not like special,

but for me, it was the calling card because of the way the game ended. The Hawks had to score two.
