Welcome to slow more. Today's guest is a 28 year old Arab woman who's really been breaking records after records and setting examples.

Tima de Ryan is a Lebanese woman who was the first Lebanese woman and the youngest Arab

to summit Mount Everest at age 26. On May 22nd, 2019, she stood gratefully and

humbly at the peak of the highest mountain in the world after two full months, two full months of an

expedition during one of the deadliest seasons on Everest. Before summeting Everest, Tima had climbed 18 of the world highest mountains,

including six of the seven summits.

The seven summits are known to be the highest mountain on every continent in the world.

She became the first Arab woman to climb Ojoios Del Salado, which is the highest active volcano in the world.

With her passion for exploring and redefining limits, mountaineering comes as a second nature

to her.

She told me the last time we met

that as she climbs,

she sometimes carries as much as 50 or 60 kilograms

on top of her own weight at high altitude, equal to every man on the expedition, doing it with

fashion and sometimes as a leader for the others. Tima was once a finance professional working in a multinational organization

and she's now the founder of Mountain Gypsy.

She's a professionally certified coach. She's an advocate for

children. She is a woman's right advocate and she's an activist for

environmental issues. She just simply wants to see everyone
