John, thank you for having me on the podcast, man, extremely humble and excited about our

conversation.

Well, thrilled for you to be on here.

You're an amazing human being.

You have a new book out called The Art of Overcoming.

Talk about overcoming, like, did you have to overcome in your childhood?

Where'd you go up?

Yeah.

So I grew up in a city called Creepmore, North Carolina and most of our listeners have

probably never heard of it, but it's this huge metropolitan city of about 1,400 people,

rural area outside of Raleigh Derm and grew up there.

My parents were pastors and they planted their church in the middle of nowhere and it was

like God bought people from everywhere to come to this church and so after they planted

this church in the late 70s, the church quickly began to grow and eventually outgrew the

population of the city about 12,000 people called that place home for many, many years.

And through all of that stuff, just kind of saw my parents and people and ministry through

a different lens.

My parents were in the epitone of the reflection of Jesus Christ, but I just saw people treat

it them and it wasn't con.
