All right, so when I was six years old, I was really small and really scrawny.

My older brothers' nickname for me was the twig.

I was also really pale.

I was the kind of pale that's like so white, it's more like a light purple.

But the reason I was so pale is that I was sick. For a couple months I'd had this really bad cough,

and I started getting fevers too, so I kept getting sent home from

school. But the problem was that my family didn't have health insurance and we didn't really

have the money to take me to a good doctor. My parents had just gotten divorced and my mother

had moved my two older brothers and I to this little house in a new town, and we were really

barely getting by. So I'm kind of sick for a new town, and we were really barely getting by.
