Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!
This week Pip is joined once more by the wonderful poet, writer, actor and comic TIM KEY!
A multi-hyphenate for certain, Tim Key's blessed the Distraction Pieces podcast stage in previous years but it's a huge treat whenever it happens. Here we find Tim and Pip catching up about Tim's latest podcast appearances, which might seem meta being that this is happening while he's appearing on a podcast, but you know it's a goody. Much ground is covered, including fruit talk (grapefruit fans your prayers have been answered), running and body shape, humane mousetrapping, Pip adonis, a mid-podcast shopping drop which forms a perfect segue, and of course said podcast chat. You know it's a winner. Enjoy the company of Tim, for an amount of time that's never long enough!

0:00.0 | Welcome, welcome, welcome. This is the distraction pieces podcast episode 554. |
0:06.7 | I'm joined by Tim Key. He's one of my favourite humans. I find him absolutely hilarious. |
0:12.6 | I love talking to him. I've had him on the podcast previously. I've lessened to him on pretty much |
0:18.7 | every podcast he's ever been on. If you've heard Tim on podcast before and you're a fan, then this |
0:23.8 | is the episode for you because we don't go over any of his go-to stories, not his go-to, the go-to |
0:30.7 | stories that podcasters will bring up to him. We take it in a little different direction. |
0:37.0 | But yeah, I think I tweeted this, Julian Lockdown, I had a good think of who I think are my |
0:42.8 | the three funniest people in England. And I'm just realising as I say this, I didn't put |
0:48.0 | Stuart Lee in there, which I'll probably shut off. But the list I came up with consistently the |
0:52.6 | people that made me laugh the most was Bob Mortimer, Lou Sanders and Tim Key. I just find all three |
1:01.2 | hilarious. I could hear them talk for hours. I have heard them talk for hours. Tim, during Lockdown, |
1:08.6 | speaking of Lockdown, wrote two books. He used thought as a wife and here we go around the |
1:15.3 | Mulberry Book, their collections of poems and conversations from outside and from inside. And they're |
1:22.6 | fantastic. And as a real tribute to how much I adore them, I'm going to make my return to |
1:29.2 | spoken word right now. I've not done any spoken word in years, probably seven years. |
1:35.2 | No, I did the live version of the distraction pieces out. It's probably a couple of years. |
1:40.7 | But I'm going to return now and I'm going to read one of my favourites. I've just flicked |
1:46.0 | through and grabbed one that was a favourite from one of the two books because I recommend them both. |
1:51.9 | It's a buddy piece if you want to put some kind of nice chilled piano music under this, |
1:56.2 | you're welcome to, but you know, you don't have to. This one's called Vacancy. |
2:03.2 | I set up full more interviews. Households sat before me, balloting for my services. |
2:09.2 | They wanted me, these folk. They wanted me in their bubbles. |
