Welcome, welcome, welcome. This is the distraction pieces podcast episode 554.

I'm joined by Tim Key. He's one of my favourite humans. I find him absolutely hilarious.

I love talking to him. I've had him on the podcast previously. I've lessened to him on pretty much

every podcast he's ever been on. If you've heard Tim on podcast before and you're a fan, then this

is the episode for you because we don't go over any of his go-to stories, not his go-to, the go-to

stories that podcasters will bring up to him. We take it in a little different direction.

But yeah, I think I tweeted this, Julian Lockdown, I had a good think of who I think are my

the three funniest people in England. And I'm just realising as I say this, I didn't put

Stuart Lee in there, which I'll probably shut off. But the list I came up with consistently the

people that made me laugh the most was Bob Mortimer, Lou Sanders and Tim Key. I just find all three

hilarious. I could hear them talk for hours. I have heard them talk for hours. Tim, during Lockdown,

speaking of Lockdown, wrote two books. He used thought as a wife and here we go around the

Mulberry Book, their collections of poems and conversations from outside and from inside. And they're

fantastic. And as a real tribute to how much I adore them, I'm going to make my return to

spoken word right now. I've not done any spoken word in years, probably seven years.

No, I did the live version of the distraction pieces out. It's probably a couple of years.

But I'm going to return now and I'm going to read one of my favourites. I've just flicked

through and grabbed one that was a favourite from one of the two books because I recommend them both.
