possibilities for me on Thursday morning. So if I wasn't happy with the introduction, I can just

do the same thing to him, but I'll think about it. We, I think all of us who are speaking

here feel a little bit like the actor in a play

who is not only part of the story on the stage, but who also occasionally turns aside and

speaks to the audience.

You know, the character, he's in the story, but he's also talking to the audience.

And we want to, I want to, preach Christ from the Old Testament to you.

And I also want to teach you something about how to preach Christ from the Old Testament.

So I feel like I need to both preach to you at the same time do asides and say,

And that's a challenge, but it's also a great deal of fun.

Let me read to you the account of the, you might say the climax of the Exodus, the epitome

of the Exodus, which is the crossing of the Red Sea.

Exodus 14, I'm going to start verse 5, go to the end.

When the King of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed

their minds about them and said, what have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost

their services. So he had his chariot made ready and took his army with him. He took

600 of the best chariots, along with all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers over all

of them. The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites who

were marching out boldly.
