I'm very excited about today's guest. He's a attorney. We last had him on to talk about

his truly excellent book, American Carnage, which I still think is one of the, easily

one of the best books about the whole Trump era. Trivia question, or answer to a trivia

question, Tim and I actually used to be colleagues a million years ago at National Review when

he was a political reporter, briefly for us. I mean, it feels briefly to me in retrospect.

Maybe you were there for like eight years or something and I was just day drinking so

much. It just doesn't seem like it. But Tim had this baffo piece that a lot of my colleagues

and where I were talking about in the Atlantic, we actually talked about it a bit on the dispatch

podcast, about the state of the evangelical church. Let me call it up. How politics poisoned
