| 0:48.4 | And it's by Judith Wallerstein, a sociologist. |
| 0:50.9 | And she tracks over 25 years a longitudinal study of some of the impacts of |
| 0:56.1 | divorce on children, how they think about life, how they think about marriage, how they think |
| 1:01.2 | about love, how they think about the pain that came no matter what age they experienced their |
| 1:06.6 | parents getting a divorce. And some of the difficulties that go with that. And as important as a |
| 1:12.3 | sociological study can be, that should as Christians provoke us to deal with that decay, deal with |
| 1:18.2 | those problems, deal with the issues that a child might face in a breakup of a divorce from a |
| 1:24.2 | biblical perspective. And you've done some work to think through this. And it's very interesting to me as we think about our culture and how prominent divorce has become, 1984, right, where we see no fault divorce. And now how easy it's become. And maybe we didn't think about the unintended consequence it would have on children. Certainly the Bible warns us about that consequence, |
| 1:46.1 | but here we are in the middle, and researchers have begun looking into some of these effects |
| 1:52.3 | on divorce and how these effects can continue long past 10, 25 years into adulthood and so on. |
