I'm Dale Johnson, and you're listening to Truth and Love, a podcast of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors,

Well, just like last week, we have with us Hannah Carter. She serves as the executive administrative assistant to the provost at the Southern Baptist Deological Seminary.

She received a master divinity from

0:38.7

Southern Seminary and has been counseling and discipling women for over 13 years. Hannah's been

0:43.6

certified with ACBC since 2011. Prior to coming to Louisville, she served as a missionary to an

1:29.9

nourishment. We see provision that he's given us through this process of eating. But then we see

1:34.5

where that purpose is not used in proper way. And we see the manifestation of sin in our hearts

1:41.2

and the ways that we eat and the consequences that ensue. And so we can

1:45.6

observe those problems within the framework of what God designed. And then you went into a little bit

1:51.0

about sort of a first session. Okay, man, so we don't get overwhelmed as counselors. How do we

1:56.2

approach situations like this? Because there's so much to think about. And you described different ways to

2:02.1

triage what's going on, the level of care, what needs to happen, do we need to give referrals

2:07.4

to physicians, all that good stuff is really important. You talked a lot about the variables and

2:12.1

knowing this particular individual who's sitting across the table. I think that's one of the most

2:16.0

valuable pieces as you get to
