I'm Dale Johnson and you're listening to Truth and Love, a podcast of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors,

0:17.8

where we seek to provide biblical solutions for the problems that people

0:21.6

face. And this week on the podcast, I'm delighted to have with us, Dr. John Babler. Dr. Babler serves as

0:29.8

Professor of Biblical Counseling at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

0:34.9

He's also the missions pastor at Birchman Baptist Church. He's married to

0:40.1

Mary Lee, and they have 11 children and now 12 grandchildren as well. I love Dr. Babler,

0:47.4

1:16.6

So Dr. Babler, I'm so grateful that you're here with us and looking forward to our conversation today.

1:21.6

1:50.1

simply traumatic events are happening more frequently in the context of our culture. The number of

1:56.3

active shooter events has gone up dramatically in the last 17 years. The opportunities for people to

2:05.4

minister in those contexts are great. In addition to that, the suicide rate continues to increase.

2:11.4

I've been working in the emergency services for many years. It's skyrocketing among police officers
