| 0:39.3 | about the world of biblical counseling and all the things that face us even today. One of those |
| 0:45.1 | things that faces us in the culture today, especially for us who counsel and who counsel from a |
| 0:51.3 | biblical perspective, is we encounter the ideas of the therapeutic |
| 0:55.8 | world, therapeutic counseling. And it's not uncommon for us when we're trying to do biblical |
| 1:01.7 | counseling that we encounter folks who think in the normal way that our culture talks about |
| 1:09.0 | counseling and talks about helping people, |
| 1:11.4 | which is definitely from a therapeutic mindset. |
| 1:14.5 | And Sam, I think it would be helpful if we talk through some of this to help our listeners, |
| 1:19.0 | to help our counselors in particular, to think through some of the issues that they're going to |
| 1:23.8 | encounter when they see someone who walks in the door. |
| 1:26.6 | And this person is not, |
| 1:28.0 | you know, distinctly evil in their or malicious in what they're wanting to accomplish. |
| 1:34.2 | They are just being a product of the culture in which we live in. |
| 1:37.9 | And so what I want you to do first is just help us to connect this idea of the therapeutic mindset. |
