Today, Ethiopia's civil war could escalate further after a key deadline passes.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Abiyachmet told the rulers of the Northern Region of Tigray

that Tigray and people's Liberation Front or TPLF

to surrender their arms within 72 hours.

This morning, Abiy warned the international community against what he called

unwelcome and unlawful acts of interference.

The leader of Tigray has said his people are ready to die defending their homeland,

even as the region's capital, Macaillee, is surrounded by federal forces.
