It is the best news possible for the Knicks to have Janus Antonin Accombo not traded because

A, it doesn't make an Eastern Conference rival better.

And then B, it allows you at least the chance to trade for him during the off season if you so choose. You may not want to. Totally get it. And by the way, think about this even bigger than that. Even if you don't want to trade for Janus, but you want to shake up your roster, there's more avenues to trade Carl Anthony Towns. In fact, yesterday at the very end of the show, we heard about Anthony Davis going to the Washington Wizards.

And my instant reaction was, wow, I like what the Wizards are doing. They're putting these two veterans like A.D. and Trey Young around the good young court that they have next season while simultaneously tanking this season. Like, what a great strategy. Apparently, they also reached out to the Knicks about Carl Anthony Towns. and you see why the Knicks would make a move like that

because what they ended up giving up for AD was never going to be something you'd be interested in for Carl Anthony Towns.

Like that's the whole issue.
