Summary

We interrupt the Year In Review for a Monday episode that reacts to the Hero happenings down in the Bahamas. Andy and Brendan discuss some of the chipping struggles and challenges that we witnessed on Sunday at Albany, and how it put even some Bermuda aces, like Sam Burns, in a blender, and what that says about overall setups. Then they get on to the winner, Viktor Hovland, and whether this victory is indicative of anything at all, e.g. a 2014-style Spieth preview of what’s to come. They also discuss Morikawa going on tilt as well as Stenson and Spieth somehow hitting off the wrong tee box. Then it’s on to Tiger, the several scenes of him taking full swings throughout the weekend, and indications or expectations that he will tee it up in the PNC. They provide their reactions to that, and what might animate his golf life going forward.

Now the shotgun's starting golf is full of mathematics, there's a lot of a lot of setup work that we have to do in order to make a tournament work, so I'm going to demonstrate to you just exactly how we do a shotgun start here.

Greetings. Welcome to a Monday edition of the shotgun start. It is December 6th. Andy, how are we doing?

0:47.0

I'm doing swell. We just dodged a missed recording, caught it in the first couple minutes.

0:54.0

Three minutes in. I'm doing a lot better than I was when I started, you know, when we started the first podcast, because the fact that we caught the recording, we caught it.

1:07.0

We forgot to hit the record button. We forgot to hit the record button and you caught it three minutes in as opposed to 33 minutes.

1:15.0

And thank God, the day can only go up from here. Thank God, only caught it three minutes in.

1:21.0

I mean, honestly, it's better than a perfect pod, smooth recording, record, you know.

1:28.0

You dodged the bullet. Top-notch episode. This tops it because we didn't finish and then realize, like this is a landmark occasion.

1:40.0

And I'm joyous right now. I am extraordinarily gruntled.

1:46.0

This is only our second attempt. It's only the sort of off the top banter, the nonsense. And here we are. We had an easy topic to talk about.

1:54.0

The recording that wasn't for three minutes. We were just talking about this is not a year of review. We're going to break down the hero.

2:03.0

We're going to talk about the maybe the last relevant golf event.

2:07.0

No, no, we got the catnip carnival, the PNC, the father's son or the child.

2:13.0

If Tiger doesn't show, if Tiger doesn't show, then the hero was the last one.

2:19.0

Well, you're kind of disparaging the QBA shootout there. The shark shootout, right?

2:24.0

Well, they got a wait list of volunteers down there.

2:28.0

The Saadi signals, everybody, you know, Westie coming over, like Westie.

2:33.0

Let's just natural part of his schedule, fly to Florida and mid-December and play like a silly season of that.

2:40.0

I think that signal something. Did you see Baby Shark got married?
