In recent years, odd incidents occurring just outside city limits such as animal mutilations,

creature sightings, and unearthly shrieks in the night had given rise to a new legend.

It was said that a pale, bloodthirsty monster

roamed the lush farmland under cover of darkness.

Most of these salacious stories centered around the location of a country store, abandoned to the elements and encroaching vegetation.

Some nearby paranormal investigators even proposed a rather wild, unsubstantiated theory,

that within the old Langford store was a nest, a daylight hour

refuge for this mythical vampiric creature.
