Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio.

Today is the day, ladies and gentlemen.

It's the day when you get to work out what you're doing for Christmas, New Year,

and whether you're going to be able to do any Christmas shopping at all ever in the history of the world.

That's right, at 11.30 this morning, right here on Talk Radio,

the Secretary of State for Health will address the House of Commons and end all the speculation about the tears and the fears of just what kind of lockdown we are all going to be in.

I'm in sort of two minds about this this morning, really, because on the one hand, I dare not really give permission to the government to tell me precisely how I should live my life.

But on the other hand, an awful lot of things are going to depend on what they say.

If you live in Manchester, for example, and they put you back into Tier 3, that's not going to be very good news for you.

If you're in Liverpool and it goes back into Tier 2, you're obviously going to be slightly

happier.

We've just heard from the Mayor of Middlesbrough.

He said the same thing. If you're in tier two, that's better than going into tier three. But if you're a publican or if you're a restaurant

owner, is it better for you actually not to be able to open at all and be told that you get some

kind of compensation or that you can only open and serve half the customers with half the food

and half the drink and you can't really make any proper money. Will Liverpool emerge

better off? Will Manchester stay as a three? And how about London? Will Mayor Sadiq Khan get his

way? Now that he's finally worked out, they're not allowing restaurants and pubs to open
