It's not very popular to talk about God's judgment, but when we have a balanced biblical

view of God as judge, it'll change our behavior.

You know, I think one of the reasons that people today can sin so nonchalantly is because

we're not seeing more evidence of the judgment of God.

We all know God is full of love and mercy.

So how do we reconcile these qualities of God with biblical passages about His judgment?

Nancy's helping us answer that question today.

As we continue in our series on the letter to the Church in Thyatira in Revelation chapter

2, we come to a very difficult part of that passage.

And as I read that text in just a moment, some of you are going to be thinking, that seems

a little strong.

In fact, it may even seem harsh, and then you realize that this is Jesus speaking.

And the view of God that we get in this text is one that a lot of people today, even

a lot of Christians, are not comfortable with.

So before I read that passage, and before you have those thoughts about God, let me just

remind you that as we read those kinds of texts in Scripture, where we have this difficult,

seemingly harsh view of God, we need to see those passages in the context of the heart

of God.

And even in this passage, and certainly throughout all of Scripture, we see the mercy of God,
