Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

We've been meditating on the great prayer of the Our Father and today we come to the words

thy will be done. The goal of life is transforming union with Jesus. He is the living water, the only

thing that can quench our desires. He is the kingdom and so we pray we ask we beg

thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. If we want the kingdom, if we want the living water, then

do the will of God. But to drink this river of living water in this life, the great Teresa of

Avala reminds us that we must take the leap. We have to give ourselves totally unconditionally to God. We must

make as she says the complete gift of ourselves to God, the surrender of our wills to His and detachment

from all earthly things.

The question is, what prevents us from doing and

accepting the will of God in all things? What stops you from giving yourself unconditionally to God? What attachments

do you cling to? Health, success, control, the need for new experiences.

Financial security, your kids or your grandkids.

Vanity, the opinion of others, pleasures, comforts.

Come on now.

There is for everyone, and I mean everyone,

those things that if they were taken away from us, we would be

distraught or depressed or maybe even lose our minds because we are so attached to them in a disordered way.

Fact is, we want our will and not the will of God. St. John of the Cross teaches the soul that is attached to

anything, however much good there may be in it will not arrive at the freedom of union with God.

For whether it be a strong rope or a slender and delicate thread that holds the bird, it matters not. If it really
