Hi everyone. Welcome back to Logical Bible Study. This is the podcast, which is all about taking an in-depth

0:18.4

look of the text of scripture. So we're doing an exegesis of scripture. And in particular, we're looking at the gospel reading that is read

0:26.7

at today's Catholic Mass. And today we're going to look at Luke chapter 9 verses 7 to 9.

0:34.7

Herod the Tetra had heard about all that was being done by Jesus, and he was puzzled,

1:24.9

Verse 7, we're introduced to Herod the Tetrarch.

1:26.3

So this is King Herod.

1:28.9

He's a Jew, or it's kind of a sort of Jew anyway. Now, this is not the same Herod that ordered the Bethlehem boys to be killed. It's a

1:34.3

different King Herod that was around at the time of Jesus' birth. That Herod has died. So this Herod,

1:40.9

called Herod the Tetrarch, is one of his sons. So Herod the Great's son called Herod

1:47.5

the Tetrarch, and his proper name is Herod Antipas. He rules over the area of Galilee and Perea. So he's king
