I'm Albert Moeller, and this is the briefing, a daily analysis of news and events from a Christian world view. If you rewind history just a matter of a couple of years, you go back say to 2020 or

0:18.5

2021, the big topic of discussion was COVID-19, what wasn't being discussed is open warfare involving, for

0:26.6

instance, European states.

0:29.0

But now, of course, we are settled into the fact that the Russian invasion of Ukraine now more than a year ago has turned

0:34.7

into a protracted war.

0:36.8

It is the first European war of this scale since World War II.

1:29.6

to the military support and consultation of the United States.

1:33.4

Which one is considered the larger diplomatic challenge?

1:36.6

Which one is the greater focus of attention on the part of the American people?

1:41.2

Right now it's really clear that the attention of the American

1:43.9

people is predominantly directed towards the war that involves Israel defending itself against

1:49.2

Hamas. And of course that's easy to understand, particularly in recent days when we have the

1:53.8

exchange of hostages on one side with prisoners on the other side. Now we need to talk

2:00.1

about that for a moment because the math continues to change and now into a sixth
