So I had scheduled to have Steve Bannon into the New York Times building for an interview.

He canceled on me at the last minute and said, no, we need to do Wednesday morning instead.

I wonder if it was something of a problem of Gillespie himself because he was seen by conservatives

as a creature of the swamp, so to speak.

I wonder if it was the establishment.

The big deal on Tuesday was this utter wipeout in Virginia of the Republican candidate for governor Ed Gillespie.

He was absolutely trounced.

We're in the territory here. We haven't been in Virginia.
