On this date in history, in cinema history, it's a big one today.

50 years ago, today, the Godfather hit theaters. It currently sits at number two on AFI's list of the 100 greatest American films of all time.

Second only to Citizen Kane. I know a bunch of AMC theaters have been showing at the last few weeks and that's still continuing.

I feel like watching this classic in the theater setting. Happy anniversary, the Godfather. I want to make a monocleic hamburger for you.

All right, let's go. Lots of news today as I have been for the last month. I'll start it with an update out of Ukraine, the Russian attack.

It seems that Russian forces are now operating at less than 90% capacity for the first time since the invasion began.

And in the past week, they have made no progress advancing on the capital city of Kiev.

There have been more and more stories every day this week that indicate Ukrainian forces are making tangible progress in their counteroffensive.

According to NATO, as we hit the one month marks since the attack began, at least 15,000 Russian troops have been killed. That's an enormous number.

The worry now is what Putin will do if he feels he is losing the war.

The US has formally accused the Russian military of committing war crimes in Ukraine. It's unclear what consequences will come of that, but I believe the fate will be decided in court.

President Biden and other world leaders are in Brussels today to discuss next steps.

Moving along to a couple of sports stories. The men's march madness tournament continues tonight.

Down to the sweet 16-year-old four games tonight and four games tomorrow. Women's play resumes tomorrow.

People keep asking me who my team is. Honestly, I don't have one. I'm sorry, but I am from Indiana.

Let's say Purdue. Go Purdue. They play tomorrow. In the NFL, the chiefs traded Tyree kill to the dolphins that dude is a machine.

His new $120 million four-year deal makes him by most metrics the highest paid wide receiver in the league.

And New York City is expected to roll back their private sector vaccine mandates today, which means unvaccinated members of the Nets, Metz and Yankees will once again be able to play home games.

Tyree Irving is back. This will also apply to performers at Madison Square Garden and Broadway.

That might be the first time ever a sports report has ended with somebody singing Broadway.
