0:13.8	It seems that we are surrounded by initials and acronyms or surrounded by letters, and
0:18.4	many of them just come to us headline after headline.
0:22.2	And they have to be explained, for example.
0:24.9	Some explanation is necessary in order to understand the first veto exercised by the current
0:29.8	president of the United States, Joe Biden.
0:33.0	The headlines tended to say that Biden exercised his first veto in order to stop an ESG measure.
0:40.8	Now that sounds uninteresting.
0:42.5	I assure you you should see it as interesting.
0:45.4	It's not a small thing, by the way, that the president issued a veto, but it tells you
0:49.0	something.
0:50.0	If you look at the first two years of his administration, no veto.
0:52.9	This is in the third year.
0:53.9	So what happened?
0:54.9	Well, what happened was the midterm elections.
0:56.9	And what happened was that you gained a Republican majority in the House that puts the House
1:01.1	under Republican leadership.
1:03.0	But you also had a changed environment in the Senate where a great deal has to do not
1:08.5	so much just with the math, how many Democratic senators are there, how many Republican senators,
1:13.6	but how many are in the room, and furthermore, who's up for re-election.
