Welcome to the morning show podcast. My name is Anthony. I'm Carla Marie. And today is Thursday, March 23,

2023. The Core 4. The four headlines you need to know. As of recording this episode, a 17-year-old

student in Denver is on the run and wanted by police for shooting two faculty members.

Austin Lyle, whose name was released because he is a danger to the public, was undergoing his daily pat-down when he took out a gun and shot the faculty members.

The student was searched every day due to past

behavioral issues and a weapon had never been found before yesterday. Both staff members were taken to

the hospital. One was in serious condition and underwent surgery. The other was in serious but

stable condition and was able to communicate what happened to the police.

Denver's East High School went into lockdown after the shooting. One mom, who was interviewed outside of the school,

said this was the sixth time this school year she had to pick up her kid from a lockdown. A few weeks ago,

a junior at the high school was shot and killed while sitting in their car near the school. The suspect from yesterday's shooting

fled the school with his gun and could be driving a red Volvo SUV. The school will reopen

on Monday and two police officers will be on property for the remainder of the school year.

Florida's controversial Don't Say Gay Bill might be expanded to all grades K through 12.
