Matthew Chapter 12 today. I'm going to jump right in for sake of time. And we're in verse number nine,

where the Bible says, and when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue. Remember that Jesus in his public ministry

would often be invited to speak in the local synagogues, and very, very common for visiting rabbis to do that.

And behold, there was a man which had his hand withered, and they asked him, saying,

is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath days that they might accuse him?

So interesting, Jesus is going about doing ministry, helping people, loving people, and we're in the middle of what we call

the Sabbath day controversies. We talked about that yesterday. And this is a setup. Did you read that

a moment ago? This is a setup. The religious leaders have actually

planted a man, or at least knew the man would be there, who has a physical malady, a with a withered hand.

And they are just hoping that Jesus will do something for this man on the Sabbath

day because to heal on the Sabbath day, to help to even apply medicine that was not life

was not life-threatening situation, was against the law.

Now, how odd? So they're hoping to see Jesus do a miracle so that they can accuse him of breaking

their law. Think about how broken that is. So got the scene. How is Jesus going to
