0:13.6	Well it is June of 2023 and you know what that means?
0:17.9	Well it means we got six more months in this year and every single one of those months
0:22.2	is going to mean an amplification of the political activity, the raising of the political
0:27.3	temperature and we are headed into even more concentrated attention on the 2024 election
0:33.9	and in particular on the 2024 presidential race.
0:38.3	You have been warned.
0:39.9	Over the course of the last several days there have been some new candidates, particularly
0:43.8	on the Republican side who have announced their candidacies to in particular.
0:48.9	It's virtually impossible these days to talk about all of them all the time so I'm going
0:52.0	to be talking about two of them as we think about the Republican race and what this likely
0:57.2	will mean.
0:58.2	The two big names already in the Republican race are former president Donald Trump and
1:02.8	the current Florida governor Ron DeSantis.
1:05.4	There are others, two from just one state in South Carolina, Nikki Haley, the former governor
1:10.3	and Tim Scott, the current senator from South Carolina.
1:13.8	There are others but what's really interesting in the last week was the entry of the former
1:18.3	vice president of the United States Mike Pence and the former Republican governor of New
1:22.7	Jersey, Chris Christie.
1:24.6	Now we're not talking about the same Republican brand here and that's where it's important
