Today is Thursday, June 10th, and you're listening to the morning announcements presented

President Joe Biden is officially on his first overseas trip of his presidency.

He'll be spending eight days in Europe focusing on rebuilding alliances with European nations,

as well as seeking to publicly demonstrate that the Western Alliance can compete economically

with China.

Biden will be starting this trip with the G7 summit, followed by a NATO summit and

a meeting with the heads of the European Union, before he ends his trip with the summit

with Vladimir Putin in Geneva, which I have a feeling will be a lot less fun for Putin

than the past four years of summits have been.

Remember when we had to worry that TikTok was going to get banned?

Well, the Biden administration has officially killed that initiative.

However, they announced that the Commerce Department will conduct its own analysis of

any security threats that apps are trying to make pose, and will provide recommendations

on how people can protect their data from hackers and barn governments.

As long as the Commerce Department doesn't fuck with the TikTok algorithm, I'm good.

Democratic Representative from Florida Valed Demings announced yesterday that you'll be

mounting a Senate run for Marco Rubio's seat in 2022.

The last time a Democrat won a Senate seat in Florida was in 2012, but CNN has ranked Rubio's

seat as one of the 10 most likely to flip in 2022.

Demings herself has a really interesting resume, with one of the highlights being her role

as the first female police chief of the Orlando Police Department, after growing up poor
