Hey guys, I am greeting you from my hotel room here in Sydney, Australia. I'm actually at the international

departures area of the airport and we're leaving in the morning. So just staying here in the hotel

tonight and wanting to get this podcast in. So for me, it is, let me figure this out, it's Wednesday night,

which means for you, it is early, early, early Wednesday morning, which means by the time I get

this uploaded and all of that, it will be to you tomorrow morning your time, which is just a few

hours for me, my time. Hope that makes

sense. Anyway, one thing I do know is we're in Genesis chapter 16, and I want you to find your

place if you would. And this is a really interesting passage of scripture, especially in light of

the fact that God had just made a promise to Abram.

And in that promise, God had even given Abram some additional information.

Remember, Abram said, how are you going to do this, Lord?

And in that question, God told Abram, hey, I'm going to allow 400 more years.

There's going to be a time when the nation, your children are going to be in captivity.

I'm going to bring them back out. I have a plan. So God reiterates all of this, puts Abram in that deep sleep,

confirms the covenant with Abraham, and now we're in a section where Sarai, Abraham's wife,

is going to express some doubt. Now, again, I want us to remember that all of this was part of the revelation that God is giving to Moses at the time that the people of God are about to go over the Jordan River. They've been wandering for 40 years. So think about the people of God. What have they done? They have also received a promise from God.

They have also come through the Red Sea toward the promised land. They also, at the last minute,
