you need to know. You've probably seen it all over your social

media feeds by now, but here's what we currently know about the fires devastating Southern California.

The first and biggest of the fires is the one you've probably seen the most about, the Palisades

fire that has swept through the Pacific Palisades in Malibu area. But there are three other fires

also spreading around Los Angeles, like the one in the Hollywood Hills. It's so bad that the National

Guard has been called in to help the Los Angeles County firefighters because there aren't

enough of them to battle all four of these things. The fires are spreading super fast because

Southern California is also dealing

with insanely high wind along with the dry conditions. There are even reports that fire hydrants

are running out of water around Los Angeles, making the whole situation that much worse.

And on top of all of that, back in June, the mayor of Los Angeles, Democrat Karen Bass,

signed a new budget that actually cut spending for the fire department by around $18 million

or 2% of the previous year's budget. And by the time you hear this, close to 50,000 residents

in Southern California will be forced to evacuate their homes with my family and a lot of our friends included in that number.
