So it's officially been a year since the insurrection, which is why today we're going to of course

start with January 6th headlines.

A lot of you have been asking, what are we going to finally see some serious consequences

for the people who plan the insurrection?

While Attorney General Merrick Garland must have known that we were all waiting and getting

impatient because yesterday he gave his first press conference to update us all on the status

of that.

He revealed that so far 17 people have been charged with conspiracy to obstruct Congress

and he referred to perpetrators who may not have been at the Capitol on January 6th, which

of course leads open the possibility of a criminal investigation into the Trump White

House.

He also added that the straightforward cases are the ones that are being resolved first,

that they will take as long as they need for justice to be done, and that he vows to

protect our democratic institutions from attack.

6th Committee, which has just asked Sean Hannity to cooperate in their investigation, though

they have not officially subpoenaed him, which means that his participation would be voluntary.
